The Countdown is ON!

Less than 5 days remain before the Annual SACBA Conference & Bilby Awards Dinner kicks off for 2014.

We are super excited over the sheer quantity of entries we received for the Bilby Awards this year! In fact this year was the LARGEST quantity of entries we have EVER received.
It made judging hard, but we after hours of listening to all the entries we decided on the finalists and then fought some more…

Even the program got a little excited and had to change, but we think it’s for the better as we introduce Claire Stuchbery from the Community Broadcasting Foundation to talk about grants that are available to stations and show you some tips for apply.

The rest of the program is so jammed packed – we needed 2 days!

  • Marilyn Bodycoat presenting ‘Speech Matters!’ – Have fun, practice and get tips for improvement as you focus on how you speak, rather than what you say
  • Recording for sponsorship & promos – A practical session for those who voice promos and those who record them
  • Basic Networking & Streaming – Basic computer networking for stations as well as streaming your broadcast
  • Playout systems – Discuss the variety of playout systems available and share experiences from SACBA stations
  • Sound Editing Practical – Practical, hands on workshops to learn editing techniques. Great for producers and presenters who want to produce program segments or whole programs
  • Big Topics Forum – Join SACBA board members and Amy Moon from the CBAA for discussion and Q&A. Time to talk about issues, ask questions and get information
  • Transmission Infrastructure project and equipment bank – Join SACBA Technical Advisory Group members to find out about transmission infrastructure for sub metro and rural stations. See the equipment bank and find out about new equipment
