Conference 2022

The 2022 SACBA conference was the perfect occasion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australian community radio, and a good opportunity for South Australian community radio broadcasters in particular to pat themselves – and each other – on the back: our state started it all! Fifty years on, South Australian community radio broadcasters continue to inform, entertain and give a voice to their communities like no other media; and SACBA continues to support their effort like no other peak body association, including with their unique Station Assistance Program throughout the year, and an increasingly successful yearly get-together.

Join us for a celebration of 50 years of Community Radio in Australia.

Yes it all started here in South Australia when, in 1972, 5UV (Radio Adelaide) was granted the first public radio licence in Australia.
Our sector has grown so much since then and we have much to celebrate!

Our conference this year includes:

Friday evening: party with Radio Adelaide in their new station, light dinner & drinks provided. Bus also provided from the conference venue and back.

Saturday workshops: sessions include Social Media, Specialist Radio Programming Grants best practice, Local & Independent news, Radio Presentation Techniques, plus the ever popular Station Round-up and a National Perspective of the sector from CBAA, CBF, CMTO.

Bilby Awards dinner: delicious 3 course dinner & awards presentations plus another tricky table challenge and fun quizzes.

All this for an amazing cost of $125. Get a bunch of station people together and come celebrate with us!

Travel subsidies available for country stations.
